Meadow of the Grizzly (Squamish, BC)

Trail Difficulty: Black

Trail Accessibility: A2

Access: Shuttle up Garibaldi Park Road and park in the gravel shuttle lot near the top. The lot is angled and and rocky and can be difficult to manoeuvre. It also tends to get buys during the summer. There is a steep, loose, rocky peddle to the start of the trail. A pedal assist or companion is recommended.

The trail: It is double track the whole way but the first third is steep, sharp, cambered switchbacks that pose a high risk for tipping an adaptive bike if you come in too slowly. The trail gets easier as you descend and finishes with a short climb then some fun berms and small, optional jumps. A short peddle up the FSR at the end links you to Half Nelson which takes you back to the lower lot. Is it adaptive mtb friendly? Due to the steep nature and high rolling risk on the top third of this trail is not ideal for newer riders and a companion is almost certainly required to assist in some sections. There will be some frustrating and sketchy parts, especially near the top. Overall, probably not worth the pain at the top for the fun lower section for most but it can make for a long lap when linked with Half Nelson and is an option for riders looking to shuttle.

Ride at your own risk.
