Trail Difficulty: Black
Trail Accessibility: A3
Trail Access: Park at the second lot along Garibaldi Park Road. Across from the parking lot there is a forest service road. Start pedaling up that past the first switchback and continue for another kilometre until you see the trailhead on the right side of the road. (Although there is nothing stopping you from shuttling this road it is heavily used by cyclists and so they have asked that you respectfully avoid doing so.)
The trail: double track the whole way, relatively gentle grade, with some peddling sections to maintain flow in the upper sections. The first half of the trail consists of a number of very tight turns with steep embankments and 36"-wide mandatory wood bridges across creeks. The trail ends with big, fast, flowing berms and gentle table top jumps. On a nice day this trail can be very busy, with riders flying through blind corners at high speeds. It may be wise to visit during the off-season or during 9-5 working hours.
Is it adaptive mtb friendly? The upper section contains some very tight, exposed sections of trail that will require careful manoeuvring and potentially some assistance from a companion. Two narrow bridges are accessed after hairpin turns that may require assistance from a companion. The upper section provides a considerable challenge with high-risk sections and is not suitable for beginner riders. By midway it becomes fast and flowy.
Note: The flowy lower half can be accessed by Full Nelson... we will return and ride it to see if it's more user friendly.
